How to do annual license renewal

Continuing Professionalism Development (CPD)

NOTE: In 2026, the framework has changed. Currently the info below is for 2024/2025 cycle.

  • Salespersons must complete 6 CPD credits (4 Professional and 2 Generic)
  • 1 module = 2 credits = ~$40 self pay or free
  • Annual renewal every Oct-Nov (read below on cost)
  • 1st year no need renew
  • The credits need to be earned between Oct 1 (previous year) - Sep 30, before renewing in Nov
  • Check your outstanding credits in My CPD Portal
  • CPD courses is eligible for UTAP reimbursement, if approved. Similarly capped at $250 per year ($500 for 40yo and above), up to 50% of the course fee. Proceed to claim after completing the course.

CPF Medisave

As a self-employed, you need to settle any outstanding Medisave liabilities.

Login to CPF dashboard > my cpf > Self-employment > Pay if in arrears.

If youโ€™re using Giro, then it is alright and you can continue to renew.

Your GIRO arrangement is active. You are cleared for licence application/renewal (if applicable).

How to renew license

If you fulfill the CPD and CPF requirements, you can renew your license for another year.

You might need to select your agency renewal package first. Your agency might cover the renewal fee for the first few years, or if you met their sales target.

Then in Oct 1 - Nov 30, login to ACEAS to submit your renewal.

The CEA license renewal fee is $280 yearly + $60 alternate year.

However, renewing through the agency has other fees. For 2026 renewal with Huttons, it is $500. But as mentioned, they might waive under certain conditions.

Filing Income Tax

Not to do with renewing license, but an important process as a self-employed person every April. Your agency likely will sumbit your gross income to IRAS, and all you have to do is verify and submit.

But if your agency do not auto submit, then you have to declare your commission and other self-employment income at the โ€˜Sole-Proprietorship/ Self-Employed Incomeโ€™ page of your Income Tax Return.

You do not need to register a sole-proprietorship business with ACRA.
