Only 16% of HDB hit the occupancy cap
In the previous post, we shared the new change in rental occupancy cap. This is what Senior Minister of State for National Development Tan Kiat How told the Parliament in response to queries from MPs:
HDB flats that are fully rented out, 16 per cent have six unrelated occupants each
That is just over 9,200 Housing Board flats out of a total of 58,000 flats rented out.
Islandwide, there is about 1 million flats, with these 5% being rented out.
About 90 per cent of these occupants are non-residents, with most in their 20s to 40s
