How to renew through Huttons and CEA
NOTE: From 1 Jan 2026, CEA has rolled out a new CPD framework. It moves from credits to training hours, and the cycle now aligns with the calendar year.
As a self-employed, you need to settle any outstanding Medisave liabilities.
Login to CPF dashboard > my cpf > Self-employment > Pay if in arrears.
If you’re using Giro, then it is alright and you can continue to renew.
Your GIRO arrangement is active. You are cleared for licence application/renewal (if applicable).
The CPD Portal doesn’t handle renewal. It only tells you whether you’ve fulfilled the training requirement. The actual renewal is done through Huttons HiP and CEA’s ACEAS portal.
For Huttons, the 2026 exercise has 2 parts:
You can only proceed after your CPD and CPF MediSave requirements are cleared. My CPD dashboard showed PASSED after all 4 SIEA courses, attendance records and feedback were processed.
The official renewal window is 1 Oct–30 Nov 2026. CEA will still accept applications in December, but approval may not arrive before 1 Jan 2027. Normal processing takes about 2–3 weeks when everything is in order.
Once approved, the registration is valid from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2029. This is the first 3-year registration cycle.
CEA charges a $60 application fee once per 3-year cycle and a $280 registration fee. Registration fees will still be collected annually. Huttons’ 2027 HiP guide lists its renewal bundle at $340, with professional indemnity insurance included.
If you stop halfway in ACEAS, your draft appears on the dashboard with the status Pending RES Submission. After submitting, Huttons checks the application and sends it to CEA. Then you wait for the approval email.
You can check the status later under ACEAS → Services → RES Management → Renewal.
During the 2027–2029 cycle, you must complete at least 3 property transactions or pass CEA’s Refresher Examination. This Currency Requirement affects your next renewal for 2030–2032. It doesn’t add another step to the current application.
Not to do with renewing license, but an important process as a self-employed person every April. Your agency likely will sumbit your gross income to IRAS, and all you have to do is verify and submit.
But if your agency do not auto submit, then you have to declare your commission and other self-employment income at the ‘Sole-Proprietorship/ Self-Employed Income’ page of your Income Tax Return.
You do not need to register a sole-proprietorship business with ACRA.
